Still Needed: Student Runners for Saturday Auction

We are in need of 7-10 student runners (age 18 and up) for Saturday night’s Spring Auction.  These students will be well supervised as they help bring gifts to happy bidders during our live auction.  Contact Mrs. Tuite or Mr. Alpaugh in Advancement if you can help.

Remember: this is our biggest fundraiser of the year!

Come to the 20th Annual Spring Auction!  There are only a few days left to sign up for the Spring Auction.  This is our biggest fund raiser of the year and I can’t wait to see all of you this Saturday.  Contact Mrs. Tuite in the Advancement Office if you’d like to reserve a seat (or two or three).

Flooding in NJ: Here is the photo from my part of NJ.  The flooding has been devastating in many parts of Morris County.  My regrets to the ladies basketball team and their Sunday banquet; after 40 minutes of trying alternate routes, I couldn’t get to a highway or via the backroads.

How Much is a College Degree Really Worth?

I can still remember the words of my parents as I entered senior year at the Catholic University of America, “We’re not paying 80K for you to have a dead-end job in life.”  For Morris Catholic parents who have seniors, the cost of a college degree is probably in the forefront of their minds.  We may not want to voice it, but each of us has probably wondered if the degree is really worth the expense.

BusinessWeek has this post today which tries to answer the question.

MC Has Qualified Among 400 Schools!

MSG Varsity, who sponsors our Campus Media club, has notified us that Morris Catholic has qualified among 400 schools for a school spirit contest!  Click here to vote for the photo below.  We could earn a new score board (football anyone?) and then some.

Haiti Vitamin Collection a Success

Thank you to everyone who brought in donations as part of Catholic Schools Week!  We collected 11,415 vitamins- that’s a lot of vitamin C!  Mrs. DuBose will be traveling with her church to deliver these vitamins in April. Again, thanks to all who participated!

Is Your Catholic College Pro-Life?

Over the years, I’ve been asked about the Catholicity of certain colleges.  If you’re wondering about how your child’s university stands up, be sure to read this article. It’s a bit disturbing to say the least.
